If you looked at the forecast, it looked like they had a window of about 2.5 hours. Obviously it didn't happen. Real easy to criticize from your living room.

I definitely wouldn't be opposed. I don't see what Homestead has ever done to deserve the last race of the season.

It's not a bad track, but like you said, Miami isn't exactly known for it's racing background.

They built the track after Hurricane Andrew flattened Homestead back in the 90's as part of the rebuilding effort.

Probably wouldn't be there otherwise.

NASCAR has made worse rule bends in the past, like putting Jeff Gordon in the Chase, creating a 13th driver in a 12 man Chase and screwing over Truex, who did absolutely nothing.

I'd love to see some racing today, but it doesn't look too promising. After 5, the heavy shit is supposed to start, and stay most of the night. Tomorrow's forecast is pretty shitty too.

On second thought, Let's put rain tires and wipers on the cars and go racing. I know it's hard to believe, but the technology is there .... treaded tires and windshield wipers .... Rain tires wouldn't work on high banked ovals. And even if they did, I'd just assume wait it out and see some actual racing. When the rain tires are thrown on, it's pretty much just riding around.

There used to be a section of stands in Darlington with a tin roof as recently as 1998. The one time I went to Darlington, that's where I sat. Talk about loud.

The best solution is get some scientists to find a way to make DW's vortex theory a real thing.
