It looks like the bats are at least starting to come around a little bit. I'd like to see more success in the running game this series, though. We need to steal bases, and do it at a good rate, if we want to be successful.

I look for Pedro to stay hot somehow, and for some home run power out of McCutchen. I also expect Tabata to continue trending upward this series, and for Presley to hit some games.

Basically, I expect good things this series.

Making Hanson throw a lot of pitches could be key.

Man, Presley got a great jump there, but it was a pitch out, and McCann's throw was absolutely perfect.

I feel like Watson is on the brink of getting drilled every time he pitches. Meek is awful so far this season. I was very hopeful for some 2010 SuperMeek.

Barajas is making 2011 Lyle Overbay look like a stud. I realize you want to give him a chance, but at some point everyone gets old and is worthless. Pretty sure he's reached that point. Maybe he snaps out of it.

Well hey look, the Pirates are scoring some runs.

Tabata and Barajas both contributed nicely in that inning, for a pleasant surprise.

Don't look now, guys, but in his last seven full games plus today's game is 1.118.


Sure, it's a small sample, but it's certainly encouraging to see him get a little hot lately.

And Bedard is tossing a nice game right now. Seven strikeouts through four innings is nothing to sneeze at.

And there's another double from Alvarez. Very well struck, too. Confident Pedro is fun to watch.
