Emmitt was the best player on a dynasty. He missed a couple of games at the start of one season and the Cowboys went winless. He came back and they won a Super Bowl.If Emmitt wins this one i'm taking my ball and going home!
Gonna go with Smith. Pound for pound Peterson may have him beat, but after age 28 (Where AP is now in his career) Smith had 3 more excellent seasons running the ball.
3 more excellent season? 4.2, 4.2 and 4.1 average yards per attempt is IMO not excellent, it's average.
I'm sure he would've won at least 2 Super Bowls. Its still hard for me to get over the Saints/Vikings playoff game with Peterson. They got Farve's best year and had a dominant Dline and the Vikings couldn't find a way to winI'm a huge Smith fan and I'm leaning towards the TD machine, but what if AP/AD had played on that dynasty team...
Yes he was and 4.2, 4.2 & 4.1 is still average...

We'll see if Peterson averages 300 carries and 4-4.2 ypc over the next three years. I doubt that you will see it as average if he does.
Sure I will, league average is 4.15 if AD does that it won't matter if I think it's average it will be.
Average is not all that matters though. Average over carries is more important to me. There are always guys that average 5.5-6 yards per carry but only have 100 or so carries because they're simply not a work horse.
If Peterson averages 300 yds and has anything over 4 ypc at ages 29, 30 and 31 it will be impressive to me.
