Well got down big early (10+ points). We were getting to the basket but we were missing shots. App State got a lot of offensive rebounds as well. However, we've managed to keep attacking and get the lead.

Been watching football. Might have to watch this instead to contain anger issues.

Well that was a bitter way to lose. Oh well. Good learning experience there.

We have trouble rebounding and Shane Henry only gets 4 minutes? WTF!

How can JVZ and Pierce only get 5 rebounds combined? They have a 4 inch advantage over everyone on the court!

This loss is bad. I don't care about inexperience. With the talent we have, you should never lose to a horrible App State team.

N. Iowa comfortably controlling the game. Led 40-31 at half. Defense has been sloppy. Offense has been disjointed

Up over 20 pts now. Pierce is so so green. Every time he's been in the game, its a lay up line for the other team

I know we lack size but it seems like Buzz may be a tad too overly reliant on 3 and even 4 guard line ups. Henry and Beyer could use some minutes

69-49 NIowa with 3 mins left. Basically over. No one played well outside of Joey. We also have more turnovers (13) than we do FT attempts (6). So yeah. Ugly ugly game.

Fire Buzz!!! What a con artist that guy is!

I'm actually sort of glad to see these losses. After starting 2-0, I was thinking maybe Buzz could turn this dumpster fire around immediately. This reality check has reminded me that it will take a few years to undo what JJ did to the program. I do wish we had a couple more bigs to eat up minutes. I'm optimistic that Buzz can coach these kids up and they look better in January and March than they do in November. I never really saw improvement in the kids when JJ was coaching.

Last night was like watching one of JJ's teams.....no rebounding and very poor defense, poor free throw shooting and few set plays on offense. Certainly need more size and hopefully some size who can contribute offensively.

And please have JVZ learn how to make free throws consistently.

Those are free points he's not getting.

I agree. I just think last night opened my eyes to how long it will take to get back to being a middle of the pack team. The first game might have been fools gold-- watching guards penetrate and kick out for open outside shots. The reality is we are undersized and young.

Playing Miami (OH) right now in the consolation game. We're leading 34-17 with about 3 mins left in the 1st half. We've looked much better best I can tell but I'm about to give up on it. I've tried a couple of feeds and everything is just too choppy. Must be something on my end.

The good guys win 78-63. Hot shooting nights for Smith and Bibbs with 26 and 22 points respectively.

The good news is that VT played better in last night's game, and it looks like Northern Iowa is actually pretty good, as they also stomped Northwestern.

Last night looked like the earlier wins-- great ball movement and kicking it out to an open player for a 3-point shot. Rebounding was not a weakness for a change. I stopped watching late in the game and was bummed to see the lead go from 25+ down to 15 at the end; did we put in the backups?

Last night looked a lot like the first two games. Lots of drive and kick outs for wide open 3 pointers. Defense looked a lot better. We also rebounded much better as a team. First time we won the rebounding battle all year.
