I don't think the Utes have the strength of schedule or name recognition to pass Alabama. Oklahoma has the best chance to pass Alabama.

Basically, Alabama needs to cheer for Oklahoma to lose a game (and perhaps Baylor as well) and for LSU to beat Georgia. That is the scenario to get Alabama into the playoff.

I think an 12-1 Baylor team wouldn't pass Alabama though due to name recognition (there is a bias against the smaller team).

I don't what the committee will do but I think any of the 1 loss BIG12/PAC champ should jump Bama. I like Utah over OU/Baylor from what I've seen so far, the SOS is not too different, Utah isn't having as many close games as OU and Utah top ten in Offense and Defense.

I agree with all of this. Alabama would beat all of those teams. That said, Alabama did not win their division. They don't deserve to go to the playoffs. If Utah wins out, I think they've earned it. If they don't, but Oklahoma does, then I like them going (or Baylor). I think I'd have a two loss conference champion over Alabama. If you're not the best team in your division, you shouldn't have another shot (and Alabama didn't deserve another bite of the apple in 2011 or 2017).

I know but this is a Sun Belt team that wouldn't beat more than 1 or 2 teams on Oklahoma or Utah's schedule.

That's how BYU beat USC and how they beat Boise State. No excuses for it though, I rip into my team every week for that awful loss.

I love UAB, their program's comeback has been incredible and I root for them a lot of times but their schedule is ranked lower than some FCS teams

We'll need Oklahoma to lose to Oklahoma State and then win the Big12CG, eliminating Baylor, Oregon to beat Utah in the P12CG, Ohio State to beat Minnesota in the Big10CG and LSU to beat UGA in the SECCG.

We possibly could keep our position without Oklahoma losing at all considering the Big12CG is a rematch of a game Oklahoma has already won, thus not adding much to their resume necessarily.
