NEW YORK (5/2)-- Bartolo Colon makes his third attempt at passing Pedro Martinez on the career wins list among Dominican-born pitchers on Monday.

Colon (1-1, 3.42 ERA) opposes call-up Mike Foltynewicz as the Mets open a three-game series against the Atlanta Braves at 7:10 p.m. ET at Citi Field.

The Mets swept the Braves a week ago at Turner Field.

Colon and Martinez both have 219 career wins. Among Dominican-born pitchers, only Juan Marichal has more with 243.

NEW YORK -- Lucas Duda and the New York Mets gladly got into a game of home run derby with the Atlanta Braves.

David Wright, Yoenis Cespedes and Duda hit loud homers in the first inning as the Mets teed off to back Bartolo Colon, beating Atlanta 4-1 on Monday night for their ninth win in 10 games.

"Everybody kind of clicked together," Duda said.

The Mets' homer barrage came in a span of 16 pitches. The Braves have hit just five homers all season, by far the fewest in the majors for the team with the worst record in the big leagues.

NEW YORK -- New York Mets right-hander Matt Harvey has shown signs of progress in each of his last two outings. The Dark Knight hopes to keep that forward momentum going on Tuesday at Citi Field.

Harvey (2-3, 4.76 ERA) opposes Atlanta Braves right-hander Matt Wisler (0-2, 4.26) at 7:10 p.m. ET.
