That win last night is the type of comeback/win that makes you start to feel good about this team. I just hope there is no late season slump!

I still love the play by play on Martin's pop-up....We are going to extra innings and oh no he dropped it. I feel for that RF it is hard to hear and that is the second time in a week he did that, the last time he hurt Altuve.

that is so sweet.
about 5-7 more feet and it is in the river on a fly.
unbelievable.
i've said it before, but my pirate idol growing up was wilver dornell stargell. he had the record in most of the NL parks in the 70's and i believe the only one to hit it out of several parks including dodger stadium.
alvarez has that kind of power.

Thats a prime example of the adage 'more games are lost than won in baseball'

Actually, 5-7 more feet and it damages that person's boat. :D

Just a slightly higher trajectory (unbelievable it was a line drive HR), and that clears all boats in the area.

My nephew's middle school band is performing the national anthem tonight. Doubt I'll get to see it broadcast. :(

Kudos to the fans, making lots of noise that made it difficult for the 2nd baseman to hear the right fielder call him off (assuming he even tried). Give the fans an assist.

What a stupid decision by Hurdle. After the wild pitch, he should have loaded the bases to go for the double play ball.

Speaking of stupid decisions by Hurdle, how about having Burnett swing away with a runner at first and nobody out? :burt:

I thought Pedro had that one. Just a little short. He put a great swing on it, though.

Got it done. Gotta figure out a way to get 2 of 3 from the Astros, minimum, and they did. Locke is looking like a stud. It would be nice to get an ace out of nowhere. He's at least a very strong back end of the rotation guy.

Not a pretty one, but another series victory for the Pirates. We just have to keep doing it, and we'll have ourselves a good shot at a playoff spot.

I'll take 2/3 everytime, but that was close series.

Locke stepping it up is huge, no way I replace him with McDonald/Moron or Karstens, they can fight it out for the 5th spot in the rotation.

Locke is pitching great but not as good as his numbers suggest. He has peripherals that suggest that regression to the mean is likely.

Still - I'm happy that he's performed this well. Those games are banked for us already.

Illinest,

When you consider that Locke and Gomez are only in the rotation because McDonald went on the DL and Morton is not all the way back yet... and then look at the numbers that they have put up... This has been a huge boost to the pirates season early on.

When you look at his stats sure the strikeout totals are a little bit low.. But for a back of the rotation starter... I am pleased as punch!
