Put me in "No" catagory.....Or at least, questionable.

And have you noticed. The HR he hit last night, which was on a pitch 6" above the zone, he's K'ed on twice tonight?
I did see it. I'm leaning toward a serious NO.

What are you willing to spend in free agency on the top 2 spots in the rotation and who should we pursue?

Will an ace cost $30 million AAV?

Will a #2 cost $22 million AAV?

Or do we try to develop our own?

Of course you try and develop your own, why is that even a question?

But if you can't either of the above options work

In 2020 Sale, Cole, Porcello & Bumgarner are free agents

I hope not he has absolutely showed no improvement this season.

That's not true, he's gone the other way quite a bit this year, the results aren't quite there yet, but a change in approach will often yield mixed results and he's also going to show a willingness to stick with that approach when the hits aren't coming

Actually I hope so. But not only has he not shown improvement this season, he's gone backwards, and his attitude seems to be "I'm fine with it." Which sucks.

He did at the start of season, but the last month and a half he is trying to pull everything. It's ridiculous when the other team has no one on the left side of the infield and he doesn't even try to go other way. About 3 weeks go he was interviewed and asked about going the other way. His response was I'm up there to hit homeruns.

Someone needs to get into his thick skull that he is not very good. Like Beasley did with Elvis.

I'm not chucking Gallo onto the heap pile just yet......But re: your post, first, you gotta be willing to listen, and I'm not sure Gallo wants to hear anything other than himself at this point.

If Odor hadn't been thrown out on that attempted steal after he lead off with a bunt single this might be a different game right now. I know it would be closer for sure.

That's basically what I was referencing, an unwillingness to stick with a change his approach when things don't go his way

It is a question because at some point ownership has to decide if they want to spend that kind of money. If they decide not to then developing your own becomes the only option. I would think anyone would know that I wasn't suggesting we give up trying to develop pitching if we decide to spend on free agency.

Then why mention it? It's redundant, but considering I don't see much more than 3s, 4s abs 5s (maybe one surprises and becomes #2 quality) in the system then signing a couple 1s and 2s might be the path going forward at some point... Whether that's 2020 or 2021 is the question

As mentioned Gallo got the HR the other night on the high one out of the zone but on elite FBs, it sure looks like Fools gold. You guys are in that straight.

Definitely no huge adaptation that is complete this year as evidenced by his average. Hopefully he improves as part of the maturing process. I would not dump him but unless he can cut down on strikeouts esp with men on and less than 2 outs, he needs to be down in the order.

He had issues being too hard himself early on. Now he seems to give himself too much slack IMO

Also if anyone plays a huge shift on you then in this age you need to adapt. The book is out on where to pitch people. As a batter own the zone don’t let pitcher make you chase
