Last season would've been this (if they allowed me to seed the teams).

Not sure I'd go 8, but 6 would be legit. As you can see we have a losing team with this format (Rangers, 78-84).
Also, would you want it bracketed like above or do it the way the NFL does it with the highest seed playing the lowest seed each round?
