What a fucking joke the all star game has become.
She left you for a better man and she's thriving now...deal with it.What a fucking joke the all star game has become.
It's a popularity contest and I get that part, but then don't start using it as a stat for career achievements or for whether or not a person makes it into the hall of Fame. Can't have it both ways. It’s less about how he has played (terrific) and more about guys being snubbed. Booker a #1 on the best team in the NBA isn’t a starter? That’s why it’s a joke more than ever.
it has to be somewhat embarrassing for him to go out there. What a fucking joke the all star game has become.
Ha ha ha! You’re such an assholeShe left you for a better man and she's thriving now...deal with it.
The entire planet knew he would be better off of the Wolves. He is better because he no longer has anyone looking to him for leadership or responsibility. She left you for a better man and she's thriving now...deal with it.
Agreed. He's an all star because of the fans. Happy for him but wouldn't have cared if he wasn'tThe entire planet knew he would be better off of the Wolves. He is better because he no longer has anyone looking to him for leadership or responsibility.
Fact is his points, rebounds, and assists are all down from his career averages. His efficiency is way up though. 41% 3? Never would have seen that coming. He is an elite 3rd-4th option on a great team. No shame in it, but it isn't really all star material either.
In a way he's right. It frustrated me at first but I'm not one to ignore reality. He is very solid and a perfect fit, but hell no, he is not an all star.Ha ha ha! You’re such an asshole
I understand that but then we have to do away with using all star appearances as statistics when arguing how great a player is or for hall of fame resumes. We can't have it both ways.lol
Y'all are taking this waaaaay too seriously. It's promoted as the ''fans game'', so it should be fans only voting and you live with the results. The players have shown that they don't take it seriously with how they vote. Reporters shouldn't be voting either. They use it for grudges and the game isn't for them.

I think baseball has it perfectly. Fans get a say, but it's only one part of the equation to determine all star selection. By allowing fans to decide completely, you deincentivize players from going to smaller markets and in essence hurt the game as a whole. Why be Towns in Minnesota when you can be Wiggins in California? Towns clearly deserves being in over Wiggins, among other players, but because of population, might not be there, and will never have a chance as an all star starter.I think it's used as a kind of tiebreaker like championships. But yeah, it definitely should not be a big part of it.
For the most part, the fans get it right. Yeah, sometimes guys get in when they shouldn't. Kobe got in a couple of times when he didn't ''deserve'' it. But he was coming down to the end of his career and fans wanted to see him one more time. Can't really fault them for that.
To me, it's promoted as ''the fans game'' so it should be the fans voting for who they want to see.
One thing that definitely needs to happen too is players and their agents need to quit allowing all star appearances to be tied to bonus money...players don't really have much control over whether they get in or not.
In baseball don't the fans vote in the starters though?I think baseball has it perfectly. Fans get a say, but it's only one part of the equation to determine all star selection. No, just the staff he comes up with cracks me up, it was funny as hell but he is such an ass.In a way he's right. It frustrated me at first but I'm not one to ignore reality. He is very solid and a perfect fit, but hell no, he is not an all star.
The All Star game is a joke anyway. Its not about fielding the best team its about entertainment. No defense is played and its only about who the fans want to see, as perhaps it should be. If the fans want to see a 6'10" guy hit a 100% shot with a dunk and that excites you, then by all means, watch the game
Yep, I agree. I don't know about the bolded though because I can never sit through all the nonsense for 3 1/2 quarters to get to that pointExactly. It's an exhibition game that has absolutely no bearing on the season. There are no stupid incentives tied to it like the team from the winning conference gets HCA in the finals.
It is basically some of the best athletes on the planet playing a pickup game and showing off for the fans...plus, if the game is close late, they get all competitive, actually start playing some defense and trying to win. Then it's really fun to watch.
