Killed this 14lb hen while deer hunting. Rifle shot in the top of the back from 100 yards. Did not tear up the breasts at all.

I wish I could legally shoot turkey during deer season but it's not allowed here except for the week of Christmas and Thanksgiving. I see more turkey during deer season than I do during turkey season.

It is a rush when those birds fly up a tree from over 100 yards out and you have a rifle. You know you can get them but it is 50/50 whether or not you blow the meat up. I got lucky and clipped the back. Funny thing was when I picked the bird up, the soybeans just started rolling out of it. It was full of fresh soybean.
