I cannot believe they are still going to play today, all I have to say is enjoy the games while you can as they may shut them down at any given moment
With all the conferences tournaments that are starting to be canceled, it wouldn’t shock me in the least if the whole tournament was canceled as well.

Jesus Christ, just play the game.

This is just hysteria right now.

I'm sure the sponsorships help some but I can't see them continuing the Final Four at the Mercedes Benz Dome if they're not going to have a crowd. Might as well hold the Final Four wherever the Hawks play or some other small venue.

I agree!

The money the get from TV is massive. They still get that. The NCAA and all its member schools are fine. The money they get at the gate pails in comparison to TV deal money.

I understand the massive TV contract but how is this going to play out if TV ratings decline with games being played in empty arenas? There are a lot of factors involved here with not just ticket sales but lost jobs with vendors, maintenance people, parking lot attendants, restaurants, hotels, and the list goes on. I realize that none of these things are as important as taking the proper precautions for our overall health but our country does function on capitalism the last time I checked.

Depends on how the TV deal is structured. Payouts sometimes aren't directly tied to ratings and they get the money regardless.

(If the tournament is played) I wouldn't be surprised if ratings are up given the number of people at home.

Only if they throw away all of the statistics from this season.
If they dont have the selection show, you cant say with certainty that any team wouldnt have made it.

And since their season is done...

At least one program benefits...

Does GT have the post-season ban next year, or does this year still count?

Okay guys, I'll admit it, I'm a full blown sports-a-holic, and especially when it comes to professional sports, and I don't think there is any cure for it to get over my withdrawals with no sports to keep up with. I can tell you this: Beer and asprin don't work so what should I try next?
