Does that matter? I think I heard someone explain that the points reset after each round. I don't really know all the details because I checked out on this format when they announced the gist of it, but if that's true, its even dumber than I thought.

I think this format plays into Harvick's favor.

If he can hold on and make the final 8, he owns Phoenix, which is the last race before the championship round, and if he makes that, he has just as good of a chance as the other 3 that make it.

While he's not in the best position to make the next round by any means, he's only like 12 points out, so he has a realistic chance.

We saw in New Hampshire what kind of chaos a single race can create under this format.

Dover is Jimmie's track, but like any race, I'm pulling for Harvick or Stewart, but I won't complain too much as long as it's not Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Gordon in victory lane.

Cheer up. You'll have much more to look forward to if the talks I've heard are finalized. And that's RPM will be getting engineering support from Penske next year (currently gets everything from Roush). Wood Bros have already announced the switch.

Boring race, not worth watching. Worst case scenario really. Another race that Harvick dominates but events out of his control screw him over. And the biggest douchebag in the history of sports gets the win.

so all 12 are tied. So freaking stupid, I mean, in a way that's great for someone I root for like Kasey Kahne.......

at the same time I can't help but feel its just complete bullshit. That now if anyone gets taken out in the big one at Talladega, they are pretty much screwed
