I wish he could have played one last ATP event, so fans that had never seen him, could get one last chance. He could have done it at the Australian Open in 2023.

Yes, he will still play exhibitions, like Laver Cup, and Match For Africa (my prediction). But it's not the same as seeing him in a competitive match at a tourney, when it counts towards his professional record, and it counts for the tournament.

These last exhibitions with him will sell like crazy! The only pros I have watched were Roddick and Sampras back in the day when Pete was close to exiting his career and Andy was an up and coming young player and they played an exhibition match at Dallas SMU indoor stadium.

Yes, Laver Cup will sell for a lot more than it already does. Actually in the past, it's been reasonably decent to buy them at face value from the official site.

I wish he had announced this in early August. I would have then tried to make the trip to London for Laver Cup.

Now, on short notice, it's too hard.

Would like to see the older players compete in doubles at the bigger events. It wouldnt be that taxing on them and would make doubles a lot more interesting and watchable.

I don't think it's that taxing for younger players either. It's basically like a practice session.

When I played doubles we would always strive to make one of the players on each side strong and balance each other out, so there could be combination of one weak and one strong.

Now doubles for Fed is definitely doable given His health. He is a great doubles player and also it would be about half less work on the court.
