So there could be red flags this month that the Giants will probably punch past and exercise his option based on the 1 hitter?
His option will 99% be picked up. And I don’t have much of a problem with that. Just don’t expect co-ace performance from him. If we get #4 performance from here on out, I think that would be a win.

But what does the FO expect from him in 2024? If they expect something closer to this season, that will impact how they make moves this offseason.

I fear Cobb is done for his career after that start. There is plenty of evidence that a start like that, for an older pitcher, is what “breaks” them.

We can’t forget that Cobb is 38. He is no spring chicken. He only has so many (none?) bullets left.
Bruh...NolanNonsense level FUD there

I punched out at 3-0, but I'm kinda glad Harry got some experience trying to go six. It was a lost cause anyway so why not use it as a teaching moment.

Hope Cobb can get us the split today but he's gonna be gassed from the one hitter.

Also, we can't hit, so there's that.
This is the answer to the question "if the Giants miss the playoffs, what will be the reason?"

Pitching and defense they got.

I imagine they will be cautiously optimistic regarding him. I HOPE the go in basically ignoring the fact he is there. Anything he gives next year SHOULD be considered gravy.

You are right. Never has an old pitcher had a high pitch outing that had lasting ramifications. How dare I even fathom the thought.
No you are right. Every time a pitcher threw a lot of pitches their career ended, just like you fear.

Dude it's a direct quote, I bolded it.

I fear Cobb is done for his career after that start.
So a FEAR that something happens equates to EVERY pitcher doing it.

GTFO with your straw man BS.

And so far, Cobb is definitely proving you right.

Don't be mad you got called out for exaggerating. All you had to say was you feared that start might be a problem for him going forward, you said you feared his career ending. Which is classic Nolan FUD.

But Nolan could be right sometimes too, and yes maybe his career is over.

Here's a non exaggeration for you:

I'm not even going to make a GDT for this PIECE OF SHIT OFFENSE.

3-0 and we're done. Three straight losses with zero offense.

This...team...sucks.

Dude. He is THIRTY FUCKING EIGHT. Not 24.

Try not strawmanning and maybe I won’t roll my eyes at your comments.

Do whatever you have to, you said what you said. You fear his career is over. You might be right. I think that's too pessimistic.
