The Philies had 3 more hits today. But the good news is that Utley had them all. They did not draw a single walk today. I think that brings their batting average up to .70 the last 3 games. May the improvement continue.

How many hitting coaches must be fired before they realize that Rollins, Howard, Utley & Ruiz need to go. Every hitter left from that World Series team needs to go.

Well that was a stupid comment. Barring their bad contracts, Ruiz and Utley can hit just fine.

This might be the time to bring back Bruntlett and Michael Martinez. They can at least hit around .190 on a consistent basis!

If the Phillies bring back those 2 I'm going to have to accuse them of stat padding to get their overall team average up

If this keeps up we will need Revere and Byrd to hit around .500 each in order to cover the slack. Brown,Howard and Rollins must perform at higher levels in order for the Phillies to succeed. I am least concerned about Utley because I know he will find his stride. Let the season begin!

Didn't we have all these discussions back in the winter about how the old guys would need to step up after numbnuts sent young player after young play down to the farm? Here we are and there is your sign!!

We still have Revere,Asche, and Brown in the starting lineup. They are young. We will have Galvis on the bench as well. Ruf is projected to heal by may. But Sandberg will have to convince Amaro that he needs his power bat on the roster. The problem is not so much an age issue. The problems begin when the older players do not produce.

Well we talked about the old guys not producing, cutting ties and filling the roster with young guys. Amaro allowed the guys you mentioned but didn't finish the job and this is the result.

Stupid comment? Are we watching the same game. Those players have nothing left. They're just singles hitters...if that. Utley may get u a double here and there. But that's it. They need to go

Yeah, a second baseman with a .475 slugging percentage is a "singles hitter." I have no problem criticizing their contracts, but Utley and Ruiz will more than likely have good-very good years this year.
