This is week 1 of round 1 of the playoffs. Pick all games on Saturday. 3 points for regulation win, 2 points for OT win, 1 point for OT loss, no points a for regulation loss. Good luck to all. With the first games facing off at 2:00pm on Saturday November 30th picks are by 1:45pm on November 30th. For the playoffs please post a guess for the total goals scored in all games, this is for the tie-beaker. In the event of a tie any week the person closest to the number of goals scored wins. If they are still tied the home team for the week in question wins. The first round is a best of three so the higher seed is home in weeks 1 & 3. The rest of the rounds are three of five so the higher seed is home weeks 1, 2 , & 5.
Remember this year there is 500 vCash to the winner.
For the period we use as our regular season standings will be posted weekly and playoff spots with seeding done like the NHL will do it. The top three per division make the playoffs then the next two best teams per conference. For a tie-breaker in the standings assuming the total points are tied, the first tiebreaker will be the team with the greatest number of regulation wins will be seeded higher. If this does not break the tie, we will look at the prior weeks standings for the break, whatever team has the highest rank the prior week would win the tiebreaker. I will continue to go back each week to find the tiebreaker if needed. The playoffs will be in division playoffs for the first two rounds just like the new NHL format.
