What ever happened to Melvin Adon?

He was a high prospect for us, but hasn’t appeared in affiliated ball since ‘19.

I guess he retired?

I believe he had to have some major arm surgery last year, wiping out 2021 but not sure what is going on with him this year. The Giants have done some interesting moves with him. They nontendered him Dec. 2nd, 2020 and re-signed him to a minor league deal on Dec. 4th, 2020. They then released him on Mar. 16th, 2021 and re-signed him again on Mar. 22nd, 2021. He should have been a minor league free agent last off season but was not. He is listed as an active player in the Giants' organization on milb.com so I would guess that the 2nd release and re-signing was to a 2 year minor league deal while he rehabs.

Speaking of prospects, Aeverson Arteaga is going beast mode in SJ at the age of 19.
