I was just thinking about this. Then add in Marco Luciano and the Giants have a 1-2-3 that is looking very nice
Let’s wait for him to get locked in first, but yes, that makes a nice top end of the farm.

Huge steal.

I was also bummed to see Winn go @ 15. I had a mini fantasy about him dropping to 45. Now I am kinda hoping for a cool Beer at 45.

Based on where he's drafted, it's a steal, but this was a scenario where the Rays set the price point for him, and the teams from 6-16 balked at that price. He'll be one of the higher-paid 1st rounders.

But yeah I was hoping one of these prep arms would fall. That's why I wasn't much of a fan of going under the slot at No. 2 because I figured other teams (namely the Rays and Royals) would swoop up the guys before the Giants could.

Maybe someone like Brice Turang will fall. That would be sweet
It would be nice. And even with Luciano likely coming in, we are very bare in the system with mid infielders. Howard is about it.

If Turang and de Sedas are both available at 45, who do you take?

I would love Rocker at 45, but I doubt he lasts. Realistically, I am hoping for Hjelle.

Exactly, just keep saying the right things haha
Truthfully, though, maybe he did like the Giants. He is supposedly pretty serious about his catching, and this is a pitching first organization who tends to take it’s catching seriously. I could see him hoping for the Giants or Cards.

So glad to see the Giants took Bart. Assuming Bart makes his debut in late 2020, Belt will be in the last year of his contract by then. Maybe Belt is shipped off to someone in need of a 1st baseman, Posey shifts to 1st and Bart takes over the catching responsibilities in 2021.

Even if that doesn't happen, and all three guys are still around and productive, it's shouldn't be hard to find PT for Bart. The Giants are already pretty careful with Posey in 2018. By 2020, Posey will be 33 and the Giants will have his full season of rest mapped out
