I've been looking over these rosters and they cannot be final. Most of them have 28 to 30 guys listed and my understanding is that they have to about 25 to 26. Some will probably get reassigned, placed on the DL, sent to extended spring training or released.

There are some notable omissions on these rosters. I don't see any of these guys listed: Kyle Blanks, Daniel Carbonell, Ben Turner and Miguel Gomez. I wonder if they are injured, sitting in extended spring training or released.

They can roster 28 players, and keep 25 active.

There was another guy that got released with this group: Nathaniel Santiago. That one seems more surprising than all the others. He seemed decent.

Yeah, but do yo know who they signed in his place??

Dylan Manwaring! Yes, that Manwaring, son of the former Giant!

We should find out more about these guys soon. I'm particularly curious about Gomez.

I saw that and wondered if he was related. Not too many running around with that name.

Always reminds me of that oldie but goodie:

What do RuPal and home plate at Candlestick have in common?

They're both a Manwaring address.

I'd put Arroyo at 3B and Austin Slater at 2B
As for CF, Hunter Cole or Steve Duggar.
For RP, I'd put Okert in the mix, but there are quite a few including Black.

Not sure what I have to offer at this point, but this is a good way to look at it. You never know when the need will arise, or where it will arise. It emphasizes the importance for a balanced approach in terms of the positions we develop (not that we haven't).

There are two different ways to view this.....

1. Best Prospects at each position available NOW.

2. Best Prospects at each position regardless of time table

I'm going by where guys have played this season.

C- Matt Winn (Susac technically isn't a prospect anymore. Hell, I could put Brown here. The jump all the way to AA has just impressed the heck out of me. Garcia has a better bat though)
1B- Shaw (easy)
2B- Jalen Miller (Slater has moved off 2B and back to the OF. Arroyo has still played the majority at SS)
3B- Ryder Jones
SS- Christian Arroyo (Fox in time)
LF- Fargas
CF- Slater (Duggar, Jebavy are right there)
RF- Mac (hopefully, Gustavo in time)

SP- Beede
SP- Bickford (Beede is the more advanced prospect right now, but I think by the end of the year, Bickford passes him)
RP- Black

I think I would go with Garcia at C, but Winn going up to AA in radar-worthy.

I like Moreno at 3B, but he has been getting reps at 2B this season, which concerns me. Vizcaino is someone to watch as well.

Arroyo is our over-all #1, but his position is a bit of a question mark at this time (he is versatile, so it is a good question mark, not a Duvall-like question mark). Behind him, Fox is the clear leader, although he has the same good question mark as Arroyo.

Basically, though, I agree with your list.

I really like Fargas' speed. He has three triples in his first four games! The dude can fly! Can't wait to see some Baby Giants games in person this season.

And they've all been legit triples, pure speed (not weird bounces or anything). And he had an incredible diving catch in the gap yesterday. His speed is difference making.

The exciting part is, Fox is even more electric.

Found out what has been happening to some of our prospects, most notably Miguel Gomez.

Gomez has been in extended ST working almost exclusively at catcher, after playing a mixture of 1st, 3rd and C since becoming a Pro. He has since been assigned to Augusta and expects to play a good amount of catcher.

Matt Winn, surprisingly moved up to Richmond, has returned to Augusta. Puzzling move, Augusta now has 4 catchers on the roster. Jeff Arnold is probably going to be activated in Richmond, explaining the demotion for Winn. I'm just not sure where all these players will fit in.
