Saw the article on NFL.com and some of the picks are kind of, imo, weird, but it's the deadzone of the offseason, so why not. Considering the Chiefs were trying to trade Brandon Albert at the time (with Miami being the main suitor) I don't think it was terrible decision to pick Fisher without the benefit of hindsight. The debate was, as I recall, dominated by Fisher vs Joeckel with a small minority of vocal Lane Johnson and Sheldon Richardson fans. In that context, without hindsight, I am not all that sure the Chiefs made the wrong call, but Fisher is not exactly Joe Thomas though he has improved each year.
2013 re-draft: Who would you take with the No. 1 overall pick?
Some names listed:
De'Andre Hopkins x2
Le'Veon Bell
Lane Johnson
Honey Badger
I'd probably pick Mathieu because of his versatility in Dime/Base while keeping Albert in hindsight, but there are a lot of interesting ways to go about this with the benefit of hindsight. Do you still allow Albert to walk for a 3rd round comp and pick up Lane Johnson for instance?
