Predators select Seth Jones with No. 4 pick

NEWARK, N.J. — The Predators’ plan to select a dynamic forward was foiled by the teams picking ahead of them in the 2013 NHL Draft, so they took a dynamic defenseman instead.

Nashville drafted Seth Jones with the No. 4 pick on Sunday at Prudential Center. The NHL’s central scouting bureau ranked him the No. 1 North American prospect.

Position: Defense
Height, weight: 6-foot-4, 205 pounds
Team: Portland Winterhawks (Western Hockey League)
Numbers: 61 games, 14 goals and 42 assists (56 points), plus-46 with the Winterhawks.

I think the Predators got the best player in the draft, add him up with Shea Weber and the Preds will probably have the scariest defensive tandem in the NHL within 3-5 seasons, barring injury of course.
