FSU gets a new coach and their QB back after a tough 2017 season. VT had a rough off-season with the loss of talent to the NFL, injuries, and a coach in the news.

Still a lot of talent in Tallahassee, but can the new system be running on all cylinders? The reverse for VT, can the coaching staff overcome the talent gap?

Line is FSU (-7) which is probably about right, but we'll see.

I'm not really sure how Virginia Tech got ranked after all personnel losses. Having a tough game this early doesn't bode well for them I feel like. The Noles likely will roll

I'd feel alot better about Hokies' chances if this were in Blacksburg.

This is Week 1 with both teams facing 'issues' to open the season. Who knows what kinda teams are gonna come outta those tunnels, but I'm sure gonna tune in to find out.

Just hoping for a great, competitive game and not a 33-3 lopsided affair at 4th quarter.

If we can stop Akers we'll have a shot. If we can't, which considering all new LBs, missing a DT where we were already weak, we'll take one on the chin pretty bad. Unfortunately I'm leaning toward the later.

Our main issue for the past couple of years has been the OLine. Seeing as Akers was still able to make plays then, it will be difficult to stop him. It will be interesting if Taggart will try to take advantage of your issues and just run a lot.

I have mixed feelings. I want a good game but I want FSU to come out dominate. We've had the talent to be dominate, it's just been wasted since 2014

ESPN needs a ranked game for the Labor Day kick off game, that's how

Because we still have Bud Foster. Our significant losses were on D. If we lost much on offense, I'd be worried. Bud will have the boys playing well eventually...just going to be tough off the jump

Tech lost too much, plus Florida st being out from under Fisher only helps. Florida state wins this one 27-17.

FSU looks to be significantly more talented than VT.

I do like the idea of having a more simplified college-style offense.

Whew, it's been a long day filled with taking the kids to Chuck e Cheese, mowing the grass, cleaning the house, trash to the dump, doing laundry, and grading some tests. Just put the kids to bed and turned on the pregame show. Time for a glass of bourbon and some football!
