I'm holding out judgement until Burns comes back. His style is contagious and we are lacking his influence and productivity.

Ok Korky you and Niemi convinced me. Niemi needs to sit, not that the defense was doing him many favors but still...

Poor Niemi. It was like the Sharks game plan was to lay the red carpet out at the blue line and come on in and have a cup of tea and take your shots on our goalie. We'll just back off and let you do your thing in our zone while we sip tea.

Oh, and next shootout just go with Brown, Hannan, and McCarthy. Can't be any worse. Never Boyle again. He comes in, stops, and then tries to figure out something. Losing valuable points to vermin like Buffalo and Winnipeg is not good.

not really poor nemo when he gives up to bad goals gloveside from the blue line, he needs to fight for his space. hes given up a lot of bad goals he normally stops on this losing streak. hes a big part of the problem as well as coutures bad play and missing burns

Couture is playing like he's injured. He doesn't seem to have the same strength on his skates. His speed and agility both look much worse and he's not forechecking or backchecking as effectively as he was to start the year. It also looks like Marleau is compensating for Couture's injury. He is taking up a much more defensive oriented position in the offensive and neutral zones than he was before which would partially explain why his goal and point production is down. Marleau is also not breaking out of the defensive zone like he was earlier which would push the dmen back and open lanes in the neutral zone for transition.

Then why play Couture? We need Couture down the stretch not during the Movemember Month.

Because an injured Couture playing at 75% is still better than what he'd be replaced with in the line up.

True, but we really wouldn't be talking about this if the Sharks were winning.

I thought that a couple of games ago, its either that or the "flu" but he did get hurt blocking a shot about 5 games ago and it coencides with his fall off in play. probably a broken hoof

If he has a broken anything, sit him. As stated earlier, we need him in the playoffs more than we need him now... With all the procautions they took with letting Havlat come back, why would anyone let Coots play injuried??! He's 1000000x more valuable to this team than glass-man, so let him heal properly
