I understand the pitcher has quite the pick off move, but come on Longoria!

I just remembered that Panik is active. A bit surprised he is not starting.

Gotta figure d’Arnaud has firmly passed up KT on the depth chart as far as next year goes, right?

He has to be. He has defensive flexibility, which the Giants really love. My question is, has he passed Hanson?

IMO, no. But that is me.

Contractually, nothing will differentiate the two next year. That's something Kelby always had in his favor, even though options are seen as a bad thing for players, in Kelby's case it was probably the only thing keeping him around. He's pretty replaceable, and at this point you can't keep Hanson, d'Arnaud AND Kleby on one bench

Bryce Harper is apparently on the market now..... do the Giants make an early splash?

If Canario, Bart and Ramos are off the table, I'd consider it.

So, a rental for a team with no real chance, for a hitter who won't hit well at AT&T, and who will cost way too much to sign? Hard pass.

So....why would you 'consider it' again? :noidea:

I could be convinced. Think of it like this; if the Giants weren't giving away their top guys (should including Luciano in that group), they get a 2 month trial to decide if Harper is a good fit for the team without having to invest $300-400m in him.

Is a trial run worth a decent amount of prospects? IDK, probably not. But I could be convinced.

I just don't see it that way at all, but I doubt it happens.

Yeah I highly doubt it will either, especially without the Giants giving up a good prospect and probably Suarez or Rodriguez too. I'm not too hot about Harper in the first place anyway. But I'm not completely ruling out the idea.

Not sure I have mentioned it here, but I like watching Hanson play baseball. He is fun to watch.
