DOug pissed this game away . That's two piss poor coached games by our new head coach. I'm officially questioning this guy ability to call a game
lol the guy has been NFL headcoach for all of 5 games..........get a grip

Get a grip? I've never coached a game in my life and wouldn't have punted that ball away. Get a fucking clue
He didn't learn from last week. I saw the same trends with Reid. I call it like I see itFive games in as a head coach.....don't be so fucking reactionary.
The TO before the punt was stupid, and yes, it immediately made me think of his mentor. But a trend is not made on one instance.
This is what this team will be this year. Some of you just allowed your expectations to be adjusted too damn much after the 3-0 start. Welcome to the expectation adjustment phase.
It's a fucking forum. Ill post what I want and don't give a fuck if you agree or notYou've never coached a game in your life.....but your opinion is valid here?
Exactly
The bad coaching move here was the TO. Not the decision to punt.
We lost the game in the first quarter. Poor play calling with all passes thrown to Matthews only.He didn't learn from last week. I saw the same trends with Reid. I call it like I see it
I can see some Reid in the game calling. However Doug did use more running backs this time. Play calling isHe didn't learn from last week. I saw the same trends with Reid. I call it like I see it

Bottom lines....
The only thing close in this game was the score. Which is a shame as it continues to set unrealistic expectations. How we were that close when looking at every other statistic is mind boggling.
When you legitimately commit so many penalties the last few games you will get called for the ticky tack calls too. It's just the way it's always been. This was less the case of a brainless officiating crew like last week and more about us not being able to shape up.
Much like said earlier this week in a draft thread....if you can't win on the lines, you can't win. Too early to say if this is just a great learning lesson with some solid film to reinforce Big V with or if there needs to be a shakeup on the line. It's not going to get any easier for whoever play RT next week anyway. When one part of the line can't hang and so much in game adjustment must be made the line can completely fall apart like we saw here.
Too many of you seem to be conditioned by the few years with Chip....conditioned by the "scheme is everything and so much more than talent". That's bullshit. Talent and scheme are two sides of the same coin and depend on each other to balance. Example...once the D line failed the rest of the D has been exposed as undisciplined, unable to both cover or tackle. It's not so much on the coaches (or their scheme). Especially keeping in mind that this coaching staff, as a unit, is only five games into working together too.
Welcome back Ertz...you continue to prove to be a grossly overrated NFL player.
There are basic needs that must be addressed (discipline!!!). You are not a playoff team when you are addressing such basic things around midway through a season. But the last two games are just the experience the core needs to get to learn how to win in the future.
And....if allowed to take a long view....that is encouraging.
Exactly, we are exactly what we originally thought we were....But we have a STUD QB. We NEED 2 offensive tackles in the first 4 picks one left tackle and a guy that can play tackle and guard. We need a center, a CB, a WR and a couple of Linebackers. So clearly we can't address everything in the draft. Well we can probably bring in a young CB or two via free agency, 27, 28 year old players. We can perhaps even bring a decent center in via free agency. WR, at least 1` tackle, and 2 linebackers may need to be our draft picks. Clearly we will have to utilize free agency to fill holes once again because of years gone by of poor drafts. We are what we thought we were. Too many holes in this team. Lack of talent. We just caught the first 3 teams off guard. we need to overhaul the o-line. Period.

oh i'm not giving up on Big V either .....not at all.....but we have no OT depth and Peters is about done. This isn't going to take one off season (or two since we should count last season).
A lot of gaps identified....it just takes time to fully turn a roster. Expecting Howie to fully turn it with one more offseason is asking a bit much. Just start closing holes with young and promising talent. Maybe fill a few with veteran presence that can hold the fort and contribute on the meantime. The example with a decent CB in FA is a great example.
The OL needs to be turned some for sure. I like the idea of another OT later rounds and someone versatile across the line at some point. I'm not giving up on Big V after one game. I think he was kind of thrust to the wolves today (Kerrigan is no slouch). He could still be very solid piece.
