Our offensive line is undersized and lacks depth, and for some reason, our top O-line recruit was redshirted, and they simply can't open up holes for Chubb and Michel. Pretty much every successful run we've had this season has been on outside runs where Chubb or Michel gets around the edge of the defense or sweeps and reverses to McKenzie.

But even if our line can't open up holes for them, I'd like to see Chubb and Michel be used more often in the passing game on screens.

That is definitely not normal for a Georgia Oline. Top recruit probably didn't know all the blocking schemes or something.

I do remember your offensive line being absolutely dismantled in the Ole Miss loss.

Plus that 2013 recruiting class that was so highly thought of, it seems like every damn player not named Chubb, Michel and McKenzie has been a bust.

We don't have the right personnel at the moment for what Kirby Smart wants to do. We definitely need for size on the O-line and bigger, longer receivers and a more physical secondary. Our coverage is generally good, but teams that have big receivers like Ole Miss can just bully them around.

It sounds like as much as some people don't want to think of it, Kirby Smart has a rebuilding job to do at Georgia

Losing to Vandypants is a rude awakening of that

Yeah, I don't think it's a complete rebuild, but Kirby will definitely need to get his team bigger is key areas and get some depth.

LOL at Clemson for rushing the field after beating NC State

LOL at Clemson rushing the field after every home win. Seriously.

It's not just wins, you jokers! It's after EVERY HOME GAME. Again, we DO NOT RUSH the field. We gather at the paw after EVERY HOME GAME, WIN OR LOSE.

Are you people just trolling me? We've been over this 100 times through the last 5 years.

:suds:

Certainly a rebuild before you're back to the old standard

Smart may not see his success until year 3

Next year optimally Georgia will be a bigger yet young team

LOL @ Iowa if this is true...

That would be Eno Benjamin and Chevin Calloway, otherwise known as the #2 and #3 ranked commits in their 2017 class.

Well, I'm hoping with Smart we will eventually surpass the old standard and compete for SEC titles. But, year 3 sounds about right. 7-5 or 6-6 this year, try to turn that into 9-3 next year.

But the old standard is letting Missouri win the SEC East back to back years when both Florida and Tennessee are down including a season where we beat them in Columbia 34-0 but we couldn't handle our business against a mediocre Florida team or a shitty South Carolina team.

True LOL

I forgot about that year where Missouri went on to just be embarrassed by Alabama

Yep, we would have been embarrassed by Bama in 2014 as well, but I would have liked the opportunity to pull the upset.

Can we LOL not at the UGA loss to Vandy but the hiring of Kirby Smart? Hiring a Nick Saban defensive puppet will always result in mediocrity.

Unfortunately the SEC championship is never a place for upsets

that game is the one game that is seemingly played on paper because it goes exactly as expected. I think 2009 is the last somewhat surprising game and that was a #1 vs #2 Florida vs Alabama game, Florida didn't look too strong that year so the surprise was more in the way Alabama won the game than them winning.

Before that even it's been a long time since that game sprung an upset

LOL at Mizzou OC who had a bye week to get ready for Florida and still throws only sideline patterns. No imagination on offense at all.

I can see why OU fired him

Les Miles went to Mizzou !

In 2005, Georgia pulled the biggest upset in the SEC title game that I can call.

We were 10-2 and ranked 14th.

LSU was 11-1 and ranked 3rd.

We wound up losing the Sugar Bowl to West Virginia. LSU went on to destroy a pretty damn good Miami team in their bowl game.

A misguided lack of faith in the true freshman it sounds like

What has happened to your run game? I can't remember a time where Georgia was so bad at running the ball, it's most odd because in the opener against North Carolina you were pretty strong running it

I think WE happened to their run game, it looked like our guys were committed to stopping it

I LOL'd at that too. Georgia fans you have my sympathy !

When we lose, we lose in spectacular fashion. Get blown out, lose on a last second hail mary just seconds after we took the lead on a hail mary of our own, and lose our homecoming game against Vanderbilt.

I got hammered last night and got over it pretty quickly. Had to apologize to a Florida fan, I got a little salty after the game yesterday.

There were no holes for sure, but our running game has been bad all season minus the UNC and South Carolina games.
