I really see Mizzou dropping that game against Ole Miss. Meanwhile, S. Carolina has Miss St. and Florida at home to finish out SEC play.

Meanwhile, the only team standing in BAMA's way is Auburn.(No I didn't forget about LSU, but you know LSU is already 2 games back.)

Missouri also has Texas A&M left. Say what you want about their defense, but their offense is good enough to beat any team in the country on any given day.

I think we are underestimating Ole Miss on the road. Texas A&M snuck out a last second win against Ole Miss and the other 2 losses have come on the road. I really see the Rebels knocking off Mizzou.

could very well happen. ole miss is no joke. people just assume because they have 3 losses they must not be very good while ignoring the fact their losses came @Auburn @Alabama and vs. aTm.

i'd say it's about 50-50, maybe a little worse, that missouri gets to atlanta at this point. they were 99% at one point in the 4th quarter on saturday.

I agree, but it is much more complicated than that due to East v. West losses, and the way the tie breaker works. Here is the AJC's Mark Bradley's take on this:

Missouri's loss in OT leaves door ajar for UGA | Mark Bradley | www.ajc.com

Missouri’s come-from-ahead overtime loss to South Carolina re-opened a division that would have been all but sealed had the Tigers held their 17-0 lead. Missouri, at 3-1 in league play, has four conference games remaining, and the final two are against Ole Miss and Texas A&M.

Just for fun, let’s say Missouri goes 3-1 with a loss to the Aggies. Let’s say South Carolina wins its home games against Mississippi State and Florida. And let’s say Georgia beats Florida in Jacksonville (not easy), Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium (really tough) and Kentucky in Athens (no sweat).

That would leave Missouri, South Carolina and Georgia tied at 6-2. Each would be 1-1 against the other two, rendering the first three-way tiebreaker moot. Missouri would win on the second tiebreaker: Record of teams within the division. The Tigers would be 5-1 to South Carolina’s and Georgia’s 4-2.

But say Missouri loses to Tennessee -- that game will be played Saturday night in the western Columbia -- and nobody else. The the Tigers would be 4-2 against the East. The third tiebreaker is head-to-head record against the divisional team with the best conference record, and Florida is tied for third with Georgia at 3-2. If the Gators fall Saturday, they’ll be relegated to fourth with losses to each of the top three. The tiebreaker would then move to next team in the standings, which at the moment is Tennessee at 1-3. (Vanderbilt is 1-4.)

Georgia beat Tennessee, if only just. South Carolina lost to Tennessee, if only just. If Missouri finishes 6-2 in SEC play with a loss to Tennessee, and if Georgia and South Carolina are likewise 6-2, the Bulldogs would win the SEC East. But that’s only if Tennessee finishes above Vanderbilt. Were Vanderbilt to finish ahead of Tennessee, Georgia would be eliminated in that three-way tiebreaker due to its loss in Nashville and South Carolina would prevail due to its victory over Missouri.

That’s what could happen. What’s more likely to occur is that South Carolina wins out, Missouri loses to A&M and Georgia loses at Auburn, in which case the Gamecocks would represent the East against Alabama (surely) on Dec. 7. But the doings of a strange Saturday night in Missouri – and we’re not talking about the obstruction in Busch Stadium, which is an entity unto itself – handed Georgia a lifeline.

(Yes, there's a much simpler way for the Bulldogs: Georgia and South Carolina win out, Missouri loses twice more and Georgia takes the division because it beat South Carolina on Sept. 7.)

In other words, it's complicated as shit.

In my opinion, Missouri will lose 2-3 more. I think they have a good chance of losing to @Ole Miss and TAMU. They may look past UT, which would be a big mistake. Part of the problem is that they very likely will be deflated after that loss against USCe.

For the past 2 years, USCe fans and coaches were all whining about UGa's schedule. You don't hear it this year when we had to play LSU while they got MissSt, nor did you hear them complaining when we got Auburn away for 2 years in a row. That's right, we played @Auburn last year, and have to go back again this year. That's SEC scheduling for you.

At the end of the day, whichever team wins then gets to get their fannies kicked in Atlanta. But, I'd like to at least have the opportunity.

:agree: I just hope Bama shows mercy on the SEC East champ.

Yep. It's a clusterfuck. I've been laughing for a couple weeks at all the commentators acting like Mizzou had it locked up before they even played half their conference schedule.
I think they lose 2-3 more as well.

I think we exposed their freshman QB. Mauk was 10/25 for 249 yards, take out the 96 yard pass and the rest was 9/24 with 153. Looking at the replay, he made some bad decisions, and some good film for their upcoming opponents.

Their D was fast, forced turnovers, and got some sacks, but for that they're smallish - An effective power game might be able to counter that. We threw for 400+, and had ~ 500 total yards, too. Spurrier called one of his best games, imo (after one of the worst against U10), and exposed some holes in their D (especially in the middle of the field when they're running cover 2 -> the MLB was cheating close to help on the run, leaving big ol' open zones, which C Shaw exploited nicely). Also beat their blitz with some nice screens.

Does/did anyone really think Missouri will make it there? Yeah they were undefeated, but they haven't beaten anyone. Their #5 was just a product of them being in the SEC, they in no way deserved anything in the top 10

Yeah, UGA was #7, but they were already overrated, and had a bunch of injuries...not the same UGA team that started the season.

Florida, well cant exactly call that an impressive win either, every team with a pulse that they have played they've lost to

then there was Vandy, Ark St, Indiana, Toledo and Murray St

Calling it now, Kentucky will be the only win Missouri gets for the rest of the year. Possibly Tennessee, but I doubt it, Mizzou finishes 8-4

Tennessee is unbelievably bad, I think Mizzou rails them.

In regards to their schedule, how many really quality teams are there this year to brag about beating? The big dogs (Oregon, Bama, OSU, FSU) are all unbeaten, then you have Baylor and Miami rounding out the BCS unbeatens. After that, who is there that is a real impressive win? There aren't that many great teams this year in college football it seems.

We might say the same thing for the Hokies, except people aren't in the habit of calling Duke a "team with a pulse." nyuk nyuk nyuk!!!

All the computers have Mizzu in the top 15. Hard to say it is just a product of schedule. You would argue they are not the same since they lost there QB and that is a factor the computers can not account for. Florida has 3 losses all top 15.

Come on, man - you raggin' on the Racers*?

Mizzou is an 11.5 point favorite against the TENN. The Viles have played tough at home, but I don't know if they can take 'em in fake Columbia. I will say that they have a decent OL, with an NFL first-rounder over at LT (Richardson), and some good backs -> if they could crank up the running game, and get consistency with it, they might have a shot. They're not deep on D.

* - I had to look that up.

I think Mizzou wins out and goes to the SECCG. They are better than Texas A&M and will win.

You is mistaken...Tennessee is a vastly under-rated squadron that will surprise some peoples. Forget all about the Oregon game, though, I'm calling jet lag on that one or they would have won by 30.

The fact that they barely squeeked by the Cawcks tells you what an awesome team Carolina really is.
