Is Bielema to Arkansas the worst coaching move ever?

It's part of the deal if you don't pay them what they are worth to keep them. There is a reason Kirby Smart is the highest paid DC @ Alabama and why he gets a raise every year. He makes more than many HC's at smaller schools do. Pretty much the entire staff gets a raise every year and the only way we lose assistants is when they move upward to other teams.

We all aren't Alabama...loyalty is BS in college football when it comes to assistant coaches...if you're an assistant coach it's highly likely that you're wanting to become a head coach in the future

So...this was a pretty stupid move then. But he didn't really move laterally, he moved down. I'm willing to bet that Wisconsin would beat Arkansas more than Arkansas would beat Wisconsin since Bret has been at Wisconsin...that's pretty much my whole point and for him to not be able to get his assistant coaches more money reflects on him...that's part of your job, make sure your peeps get credit where credit is due. If you piss and moan enough you'll be heard. But honestly I think he wants the Iowa job, it's in his contract with arkansas

i thought this had to do with state legislation that caps assistant coaches salary in the b10?

im pretty sure theres a b10 rule or some state school funding rule that affects some of these schools
