It's part of the deal if you don't pay them what they are worth to keep them. There is a reason Kirby Smart is the highest paid DC @ Alabama and why he gets a raise every year. He makes more than many HC's at smaller schools do. Pretty much the entire staff gets a raise every year and the only way we lose assistants is when they move upward to other teams.
We all aren't Alabama...loyalty is BS in college football when it comes to assistant coaches...if you're an assistant coach it's highly likely that you're wanting to become a head coach in the future
