Losing Cruz was too much for this offense, JD did what he could
No, I have nothing positive to say

Even with Cruz the offense was still a struggle to get runs. This is what is to be expected the whole year and we've pretty much gotten that. As long as the pitching and defense is there they will have a shot.

Go to hell everyone who contributed to this loss. Two series losses at home vs the fucking mariners. SO much for distancing yourselves...Gonna lay down for the Astros next? You cannot continue to win 8 in a row and then go into hiding for two weeks after. Jesus it's a beating watching this team play at home vs below .500 competition.

He's right though

I disagree Lainey. What did almost every fan on this board say 3 or so weeks ago after the Cleveland series? Do we forget they were 6 games back and even with Oakland winning today they'll still be in first place by a half game? I think it's ok to keep things grounded and in perspective.

To top it all off we get shut down by a reliever with a 5.00 ERA and he's not even their damn closer? He had the smoothest inning I've seen all day!

Lots of baseball left to be played. Best to not get too high or too low.

If we want to win the division we can't lose these series, we started losing these series last year in Sept with a 6 game lead

we are running out of time, and it's more than that anyway...the offense is wholly unreliable

Thank god out schedule gets tougher. Next month I rather play Detroit, rays and Oakland over Seattle, white sox, or Yankees.

Well just good GD! They were behind 3-1, now it's tied. And we've screwed this one up. Accept a little optimism sir!

I have been optimistic far to many times for Oakland to only spoil it with a late inning comeback. I will be happy if they lose when it's over

Hey scoreboard watchers, guess what? Oakland comes back like they always do, because they hate us all.

We can't afford to lose these series against these teams, and we don't even have last year's offense...and I don't know about Ogando

these are must win games

With all due respect, it's a lot easier to keep things grounded when you lose to good teams. Not bad teams at home who shouldn't give you much trouble.

Unfortunately I agree. It's just hard to lose all the RBI guys we lost - Hamilton, Nap, Cruz - and think life is fine!

Sure it's best not to lose this series but it just happens. It's baseball. And the A's aren't going anywhere. Welcome to a tight pennant race that will likely go into the last week and few games of the season if not the last game.

On the flip side this team can sweep a good team or take a series on the road against a great team as well. It usually evens out and I still say Texas is a good team. I'm not proclaiming them the second coming but it's a long long season.

Hey scoreboard watchers, guess what? Oakland comes back like they always do, because they hate us all.

They still have Erik Sogard, have to play in o.co and play in a gay multi-purpose stadium.
