Yep. He was clearly the best actor in the movie, but it wasn't anywhere near his best performance.

And for a more mainstream guy who seems to get no love despite improving every movie he enters:

Is he ever not the best performer in whatever movie he's in?

I'm a little surprised that anyone even knows this guy's name. I've seen him in a ton of movies but I couldn't tell you his name if my life depended on it.

Probably as good as any pick, but I still think he is better than TLJ and Brolin. I'll grant you Bardem there, though he's another guy seems to struggle when he abandons "batshit crazy guy." He was great in Skyfall, but every other post-NCFOM performance by him that I saw was crappy. Harrelson's a much better actor overall.
