Will they get traded this deadline? I have a gut feeling Giancarlo will.

Early on in the year there were some discussions between the Mets and Marlins regarding Stanton, and apparently there was some real fire behind that smoke as one article I believe referred to it. I believe they were seeing where each side was at, at that point in time, what it would take and they more or less agreed to discuss later in the year. The Mets are terrible but they will be buyers at the deadline.
The mets will be buyers the way toronto did it the past few seasons... buying low on Rasmus and escobar... Now of course it did not work great for toronto, but it may work for the mets... Buying stanton makes no sense, since both teams are looking for the future... The mets would have to give up to many future pieces and probably Wheeler would have to be in the deal... The first player on my mind that they can buy low for is starlin Castro... Not saying this will happen and not saying the Cubs want to trade Castro, but this is one trade i can see happen...
I agree. The Mets could also be using that as a gauge for what the market will look like if they choose other options. If the price for Stanton was D'Arnaud and Wheeler I think I might do it though.
That was the rumored price when they spoke in April, more than 1 GM said you have to do that deal if you're the Mets, so maybe they know something we don't? Wheeler is making his debut today so if he is a trade chip let's hope he doesn't destroy his value.
I take it back, Zack Wheeler is not allowed to leave the Mets.
Arod, Jeter, and Teixiera?
