Klu hit manny manny mannnnnnnnnnny home runs but never four in succession.
This guy is otherwise mostly a trivia question but he has another moment or two to remember, but not with the Reds.

Nope. Another hint, unless people want to take a stab at it without one.
This happened in 1966 and marked the first (and maybe the only) time than anyone had ever hit more than 2 HR in a game and wasn't in the starting lineup.

I confess to having looked up those details but I did remember the player and the year.

It will ONLY be with your hints do I have a shot here.

Art Shamsky? He of the fleeting fame from the 1969 Mets?

Shamsky would be a good guess.
He's spent most of his life self-promoting about the '69 Mets.
Most Reds fans barely remember him.

Name the former Reds' manager that holds the record for the most plate appearances without having a stolen base during his playing career?

Bob Boone isn't correct, but this manager was a catcher also.

Narron didn't have a stolen base and was a catcher, but isn't the correct answer.

The manager that would be the correct answer had over 2700 PA's, went to Western Hills High School in Cincinnati, and made his last appearance as a player roughly 4 months before a President with the same last name took office.

On July 1, 1973, he hit one of the most famous home runs in Reds’ history. A homer with two outs in the ninth inning, won the game and sparked the Reds' 60–26 end-of-season rally and the division championship. Name this player? As a 12 year old kid, I never forgot how Joe Nuxhall went nuts on the radio over this one.

Is Russ Nixon the man?
Yeah, he's the darkest day in Reds history.

As for the other guy, it was backup catcher Hal (Don't call me Don) King.
