I'm far from any blogger but I got to thinking the other day and started digging into this guy that you mentioned .. My question is :: why hasn't this guy landed a job yet? With the crazy ass coaching carousel that is going on and his background/experience, I'm surprised his name isn't popping up more. I tweeted @footballscoop inquiring and heard nothing back. The only real blemish on the guy's resume is the fact that he is/was pretty tight with Petrino (played with him). Other than that, it's obvious Petrino saw some major talent to bring him to Arkansas. You might ask why he took an OL position and left an OC position? It probably equates to money ... cold hard cash. He could fill the void as OL coach as well. His numbers as OC at Nevada are fucking impressive.

How about THIS for a wet dream?

Klenakis is hired as co-OC, running game coordinator, OL coach
Wilder is hired as co-OC, passing game coordinator, QB coach

They work together to perfect a new offensive system that incorporates like/similar concepts from the air raid/pistol offenses

Stinespring is moved to OL assistant, TE coach, recruiting coordinator

i wouldn't be down with co-offensive coordinators, just too much room for conflict there. we need 1 guy to take charge of the offense, not 2 guys with different philosophies wondering who really controls the offense. i'd take klenakis over wilder as an OC, not sure wilder would be a realistic option and i like the pistol over the air raid offense.

Yeah -- there would be a lot of room for conflict but if those two could make it work, that would be a pretty cool experiment.

I mentioned this on TKP too but another funny little wrinkle to the #Klenakis4OC campaign is Jeff Long, the AD at Arkansas, was asst AD at VT for a short period before taking his first full AD gig at Eastern Kentucky. I've read before (during the Petrino debacle) that he and Weaver still keep in touch. CFB probably doesn't know Chris Klenakis from Charlie Brown ... but wouldn't take much more than a quick phone call from Long to Weaver just to say hey ... if you're looking, he's available.

I'd have to think that Long appreciates all of those coaches sticking it out after Petrino totally fucked that whole team and program. He owes them some favors.

....it's fun to speculate.

Saw this on virginiatechfan.com board and seems plausible and much more realistic than Pep Hamilton ... Justin over there is pretty informative and seems to have some good contacts

Shawn Elliott ..currently the OL coach and Co-OC at South Carolina .. Obvious connection there with Shane Beamer

He's an Appy State grad and was the OL coach there during their run of three straight national titles.

Right now, Elliot shares OC duties with Steve Spurrier Jr.

I like the elliott potential... Everything seems like a fit. And would help us transition into #GodsConference

Yeah, Elliott seems like a good fit, but why would he make a lateral move to VT? I seriously doubt VT can compete with SEC $$$.

Maybe he doesn't like sharing with JR?

Yeah .. Would think that sharing co OC duties with Steve Spurrier Jr wouldn't be so fun .. Not sure what his pay is but we pay our OC+OL coach in the half mil mark .. Doubt he's getting paid quite that ... Another very remote possibility (in the sec) is Klenakis but that's a long shot .. Supposedly Pep at the top of the list and a Big12 asst interested ???]

No way. He's going to get NFL HC jobs. Plus, I think he genuinely cares for Pagano and will probably stay by his side.

Funny you brought him up though. Last year when he left the Steelers, I was praying we'd fire Stiney and throw cash Arians way. He would have been a great fit.

I doubt that Arians is coming back to college. he has established himself as very good int he NFL. Pittsburgh Steeler fans can tell you how useful he is right now.

Why must you shoot down my hopes and dreams with your logic? I really have no idea who we are targeting at this point. Hopefully the wait is almost over.

I don't know if he has been mentioned, but what about Mario Cristobal as the OL coach. He still hasn't been hired by anyone since being let go by FIU.

How awesome would it be if Beamer uses the post game presser to introduce the new assistant coaching staff :D
