Fucking Forsythe kills us with the glove and the bat. Is he the new Eckstein?

If only Bochy had the Forsythe not to pitch Edlefsen in a close game.....ever.

Edlefson? Bochy throwing in the towel?

I'm ok with it. Padres not good hitters except Q. Edlefsen needs to rebuild confidence and the game looked like a 12 inning affair, Bochy saving bullets.

Posey FPOM......

I know I'm some internet nerd and Buster is like the second coming of Johnny Bench, but that kind of hitting approach is fucking stupid.

So.....forsythe getting quickly to the melky squibber off of Street's glove saved a run....and then the walk-off.

Second FPOM, I think, from buster tonight. The other resulted in a Sac-Fly, though. Still, the pitcher just walked the previous hitter and had fringe stuff.....got to do more than a five hopper to second base.

Kinda cool seeing Panda batting (on TV) for Fresno, hitting to all fields, etc. It will be huge getting him back. And Timmy may be finally turning the corner...

I'm not seeing it. He's got to ditch the fastball, except as an occasional "show-me" pitch.

He's learning a whole new style. But at least he seems to be truly reconfiguring on the fly. He may indeed take your suggestion, he's rebuilding right in front of us. Can't say I've watched anything like this up close. Can you recall a former top ace just rebuilding himself game by game in real games for months on end? Basically doing Fresno out here vs the best of the best?

Frank Tanana comes to mind. Perhaps Greg Maddux in his late 30's?

Tanana I can't speak to although I remember some of his career. Good call on Maddux but that was age-related. Tim so young, it feels unprecendented.

Tanana was 25 when he blew his shoulder out. #1 pick, 13th overall. 100mph fastball when younger, junk-ball pitcher by 26. Pitched until he was 39.
