Grossman started out hot at the plate, but he has had a bad May. Overall, he has not done good enough offensively to overcome his defense.

He came here with a reputation of being much better against left handed pitchers and poor against right-handers. Bochy mentioned before the season that with some adjustments that that would not be the case this year and put him in LF or RF almost every day. Despite Bochy’s confidence in Grossman, he has actually hit for a lower average against righties this year than he did prior to this season, at least to this point.

This is certainly not anything close to a Kole Calhoun situation, but Duran is a better answer in LF than Grossman.
