Are you pushing for Minnesota to be #1? None of the guys you included links to support that stance.

We heard the same shit during basketball season, then the Gophers rattled off about 12 losses in a row and Fred disappeared.

You really thought that is what I was trying to do? lol You really are a dupe, aren't you?

Did you even read the OP? My original argument was merely that UMn's being rated #1 in so many different categories, including #1 in both Total Defense and #1 in Total Offense and Top Ten in so many other categories while not even getting ranked in the Top 25 was significant. The recent posts of rankings or other's opinions only back up the idea that Minnesota should be ranked in the Top 25 and is the leading candidate to win the B1G West.

No you didn't. Stop trying to imitate Wamu by making sh1t up. All I ever did was give praise to the new coaching hire for his coaching abilities and winning more games than anyone predicted they would and for playing hard in losses in conference.

Did you continue posting the facts when the Gophers dropped game after game?
I continued posting the facts about Gopher sports teams and athletes who kicked arse. I've never been a cfb only or cbb only guy, I enjoy all kinds of sports and so focused more of my time and energy on the sport of hockey last winter. As for basketball, I was also distracted with the Gophers getting two more former bb players into the Naismith HOF, and my eyes were looking forward to the future with Whalen bringing in a Top Ten ranked recruiting class in this season, so the women's bb team will get my attention, and as for the men's bb team, NO ONE expected the Men's bb team to win any games last year, but they beat Princeton & W Kentucky in a tourney, Miss St in Mississippi and Pitt in Pennsylvania and Michigan in Michigan and 4th in the B1G Rutgers and had 2 moral victories in a 2 pt loss vs MSU in Michigan and a 1 pt loss vs Wisc in Wisconsin. This was all far more than anyone expected, and Johnson seems to be bringing in some interesting players going forward, will be interesting to see how they do. May need another year before the expectations realistically can rise, but you never know? And with both hockey teams starting out the year ranked #2 in the nation, again I may focus more on that sport, at least for this coming winter.

What happened to the Vikes on Monday night is what happens to all Minnesota teams when they get some recognition. except for the lesbian teams, they still seem to win.

Minnesota trying to imitate Alabama. Schedule as many high school teams as possible.
I understand people feeling this because much is made about OOC scheduling. There is this "assumption" that the In-conference schedules are ON AVERAGE pretty much the same. Well they aren't. They aren't even ON AVERAGE pretty much the same among teams in the same conference let alone among DIFFERENT conferences. Take the B1G, the two best teams (historically) in the B1G play every year (Michigan and Ohio State). That skews the scheduling. Years ago, in the SEC when teams played TWO "traditional rivals" from the other division, Alabama played Tennessee and Vanderbilt every years while Auburn played Florida and Georgia. Florida used to play LSU and Auburn in the west. Some teams seem to play the in-conference "high school" teams more often than others do and every conference has "high school" teams. Auburn plays Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M and Georgia every year. This year Auburn played Penn State as an OOC game. So IF Auburn elected to play TWO FCS schools in OOC I would have NO problem with that! My point is that one needs to look at a teams ENTIRE schedule before throwing stones for playing "as many high school teams as possible." It just might surprise you.

And what exactly have I lied about? It's time for you to just once back your bullshit up. Not that you can or will though. You talk a lot, but never back anything up.

The things I say to you are all different things you've said in multiple threads in a lame attempt to try and make all things Minnesota Gophers better than they really are. You're the single worst homer on this site. And pointing out your nonstop homerism & stupidity is always a good time.

Gonna say it again. Back your bullshit up and provide legit proof that I have ever seriously accused you of something you didn't say.

You say so much overly homeristic stuff about your team on a nonstop basis it's insane.

The Notre Dame crap, dumbass. That's the main one. I NEVER claimed UMn was on par with Notre Dame for ALL of cfb history, but you are too overcome by your Fred Derangement Syndrome to think reasonably and use common sense.

Then the hockey thing I've backed up, you are just too dumb to recognize it.

You've said multiple times in the past because of what the Gophers did in the mid 30's & early 40's they're on par historically with N.D. football. You even went as far as to say WW II stopped Minnesota's football dynasty. Of course no other teams were stopped by the war right? You've even bragged about what the Gophers did in the early 1900's.

And the hockey thing. They have a grand total of three national titles since '78 or '79. Last one was almost 20 years ago. They don't have the most national titles. But go ahead and tell me I'm wrong in saying that.

I'm not saying they aren't a damn good program, they are. But you think they're the best all time. Just more over the top homerism from you.

You're the single worst homer on this site and you don't live in reality.

Yes, up to the bombing of Pearl Harbor, UMn WAS(past tense) on par with NDm football. And WW2 DID stop UMn's football dynasty. And YES, no other team with a dynasty going on at the time, had their dynasty stopped by the war(there is usually only one dynasty in existence at a time), and in fact the war helped out several programs. Maybe if your brain worked better, you would understand this.

Because Natl Titles alone have NEVER been the one and only way of judging a sports program. Only a simple minded idiot like you would not understand this.

Minnesota was ranked as the #1 defense after last weekends games.

they were ranked #1 in these categories

Red Zone Defense, Scoring Defense, Total Defense, Time of Possession & Red Zone Offense.

they were also ranked #2 in First Downs Defense, #4 in Team Passing Efficiency Defense & #10 in Rushing Defense.

That's all pretty impressive and this weekend's game may have them still in 1st in Total Defense, TOP, close to 1st in First Downs Defense and much better than 10th in Rushing Defense, all while improving drastically on the offensive side of the ball, as it seems they have moved into FIRST in Total Offense!!! And only one team has a larger average winning margin than Minnesota by just 3 points.

How can a team be #1 in total offense and #1 in total defense and not even be ranked in the Top 25?

They rank #2 in running the ball, #2 in stopping the run & #2 in stopping the pass!!! And they might rank Top Ten in avg yards per completion & Top 50 in total yards passing.

And our kicker is 3 for 3 on fgs and 13 for 13 on extra points.

Minnesota could be the most balanced team in the nation? lol
Just for the record, I've had Minnesota in my Top 25 since the pre-season. But, as for how a team can be unranked (by the major polls) while leading the nation in all those categories? It's a matter of not playing a team with a pulse so far this season.

The Golden Gophers should beat Wisconsin & Iowa this season (but that doesn't mean they will). I think they can beat Michigan St., too; but I believe it is equally likely that the Minnies will lose to one or both of Purdue & Illinois.
