At some point, hopefully NFL owners will realize that being successful as a coach in college is totally different than the NFL. In college, a big part of success is recruiting. In the pros, that is almost a worthless skill, since the draft determines who goes where. In college, coaches can be drill sergeants and treat the players like cattle. In the pros, that doesn't work with grown men who have big contracts and are harder to replace and remove than the coaches. It's just a totally different ballgame.

Yep & it has to be looked at as long term investments. If Khan pulls the plug on Meyer after just 1 yr then it will do more harm than good. Needs to ride the storm unless Meyer gets completely embarrassed for 2 years straight.

Yea he has to be careful with those kind of quotes because they can easily be ripped from the entire quote to make him look stupid. One of the things I appreciate most about Tomlin is he is amazing at how he handles the media. Very rarely creates distractions that way

NFL isn’t like college for sure, way more parity… The dominant college teams just walk over lower ranked schools, usually with great ease … In the NFL any team can punch you in the mouth if you don’t bring it …
