So, my main league voted in 2019 to move the championship game back to week 16 and realigned our divisions to get the math right. We went from 3 divisions with 4 teams each where you play your division opponents twice and every other team once, then do a 3 week playoffs. We now have 4 divisions with 3 teams each and kept the playoffs the same and it moved them back 1 week to end in week 16. We will be discussing moving back to 3 divisions of 4 teams each, which would push the 'ship game back to week 17 and leave the new week 18 idle with players sitting and whatnot. We have also considered scrapping divisions altogether and going to all play for the regular season, but I don't think that will have enough backing to get done.
I'm wondering how other leagues are going to adjust. My league will also be discussing what the next move will be, since I am figuring they will be adding an 18th game to the season in the next couple of years or so and probably a 2nd bye week, to push it to 20 weeks of regular season NFL action. That move could be tricky, which is one of the reasons we are considering the All Play record idea, since we can easily adjust the regular season and start the playoffs whenever since you play every team every week in this format.
