Kid is convinced he’s the next elite edge rusher, the next chase young if you will. Oklahoma, Texas and other schools have told him from the start that he’s an interior DL with his hand in the dirt and he’s been pissy about it. Ohio state knows damn well he’s going to end up in the interior but they’re telling him what they want to hear. They may end up walking away from him anyways.

You follow recruiting at all? Not everything in recruiting gets published publicly. It’s really not hard to see what’s happening with his twitter outbursts and seeing that he’s intentionally cut weight to get down to the 230-240 range.

You follow recruiting at all? Not everything in recruiting gets published publicly. It’s really not hard to see what’s happening with his twitter outbursts and seeing that he’s intentionally cut weight to get down to the 230-240 range.

Multiple sources at OSU have confirmed he will be looked at both as a DE and DT. No promises either way.

LOL so you jumped to the conclusion that he could only want to go to the best school in the country for developing defensive linemen because they guaranteed him he could play DE?

Uh, no. That is not the conclusion I came to at all. You’re putting words in my mouth. Look who’s jumping to conclusions. I said OSU told him he could be a DE while other schools told him he’s interior all the way and OSU knows this is probably the case as well. I never said that’s the only reason he would’ve chose OSU over anyone else. If I were a DL recruit there’s a good chance I’d choose OSU over OU as well. But in Tunmise’s particular case that is a factor and he’s been pretty pissy towards other schools about it.

Tunmise definitely committed to tosu because they took him as a DE.. which he feels he is. I wonder if Bama told him the same thing that ou and ut did. Because he was a heavy Bama lean for a long time. He always retweeting Saban and everything Bama from his twitter account.

Only schools I know recruited him as a DE was tosu and aggy.

But where have you guys seen that OSU is guaranteeing him a DE spot and not DT? I've seen several OSU beat writers mention him being a DT down the road, but not a single one that has said they're bringing him in exclusively as a DE.

Because Tunmise has gone on record that he is a DE. He dismissed UT early because he did not want to play the 4i. He even joked and gave Princely Uma the nickname 4i Princely after he committed to UT last summer (later decommited, now at FL).
After Orlando was fired and Ash named the new DC, he came in again, but the staff told him he would move down inside as well.
I get tosu is a great program at developing, but he didn't commit there just because of that. He's always seen himself as a DE and so has the people around him.

Thats not what I said. I said other schools aren’t even considering him as a DE option whereas OSU is dangling it in front of him as an option.

Lol. You just can’t help yourself can you. Yes, you yourself admitted that OSU told him he’d be looked at for DE. The other schools have told him they won’t. Tunmise has said repeatedly he’ll only go to a school where he’ll get an opportunity at DE. That’s it. That’s the statement. Period. End of story.

I personally don’t believe OSU sees him as a DE. I think it’s a case of trying to get him on campus and they’ll play the “well give you a look at DE” and then “We’ll we tried but that didn’t work out so we’re moving you inside”. Thats what my “sold him a bill of goods” was referencing. That’s my opinion and I don’t have any facts to back that up. That part of the discussion is up for debate. The rest of it that I mentioned above is not.

That said, at no point have I or @Thiefery states or implied that the only reason he WOULD choose OSU over an OU or Texas is because of that. Both of those schools could very well have decided to offer him as a DE from the start and he still might choose OSU. I have no idea. But, neither of us are making the argument that he wouldn’t choose OSU if that were the case, which are the words you’re trying to put in our mouths.

No need to argue, I doubt he ends up at OSU anyway. He got embarrassed recently down in Houston. He has cut some weight and it only highlighted a lack of an elite step to play DE. I am guessing OSU will be happy to let him go by Oct.
