Mack is holding out in Raider land and it appears the two sides are not close. I've seen a couple articles already pointing to the Bears as a possible trade candidate. The Bears are among the few teams with enough cap spaces to land Mack.

I know it's not going to happen. But they're saying a 1, 3, and a 7 may get the job done for a trade. Price seems a bit too steep for me but just thinking about Mack on this defense makes my mouth drool.

He'll be with the Raiders. They'll get a deal done with him, he's their best player and he's young. A franchise cornerstone even the Raiders will find a way to lock up.

JFC I'm so sick of hearing about this guy.

I think if we were on the cusp of making it to the SB, I'd be much more open to the trade scenario laid out by BS. Nothing like a Khalil Mack to take your team over the top. But at this point it's a bit much to surrender. Besides, I'm like others here in thinking eventually the Raiders will ink him long term.

I’d trade next years 1st for him and throw in a 5th. He could make the bears defense the best in the league. Having said that, it won’t happen. The Raiders would be crazy to trade him.

The thing is pace has put his job in Mitchell’s hands and the first 5 yrs are the window. They won’t have cap space like this in his prime

Does Mack typically line up as a DE or OLB in the 3-4?

OLB is in desperate need of upgrading. Weakest link on our team.

I feel like those odds are bull shit. I really really hope he doesn’t go to the packers.
No such thing as bullshit odds. Bookies aren’t in the business of losing money

Well I'm not trying to equate the Bears situation like say of the White Sox, where everyone understands it's a minimum of 5 years from teardown to see really tangible results. The Bears have a much shorter leash, but that still doesn't mean we are close to being SB bound. If everything falls into place and I mean absolutely everything, we'd still be at best two years from sniffing it, and that would include obtaining Mack. I don't agree that it would be a no-brainer to give up something like a 1, 3, & 7. That is a LOT to surrender for a player even as good as Mack. I think it took the Bears roster years to fully recovered from that insane trade for Cutler, yet there were boatloads of Bears fans at the time who thought we got him for a song.

Let's ask ourselves this assuming the asking price of a 1,3 and 7 is correct

Project the Bears record this year without Mack, average the draft position, and then insert like 100 names of guys picked at each spot if you want to be science-y about it. Would you take that package over Mack?

Edgerushers like Mack are hard to get in the draft without top draft position keep in mind. There's a good reason they get paid besides the on-field impact they provide.

Not really saying Mack isn't worth it. All I'm saying is it's a lot to give up for him, especially when you consider we're already out of next year's #2. We he make our defense better? YES!! Would he make it significantly better? Again, I'd say YES!! Would he get us to the SB? Quite possibly and our chances would certainly be better than without him. But in the meantime, we're out that hypothetical 1, 3, and to go along with the real missing 2. Again, that's a LOT to give up and I don't care how many ways we slice it.

And that maybe if Trubisky pans out...You already know Mack is a beast.....We don't know what Mitch is capable of.

I`d pull the trigger in a second....Especially for all the ones out there who believes that defense wins Championships....
