Yes because AA numbers translate to the majors, also there's more to defense than errors
you may be right, but with Robinson's hitting and fielding misadventures, the injuries to our 3 many infielders (Beltre, Andrus and Odor) and the fact that this team isn't going anywhere, why not give Ibanez his chance? we have been surprised by Guzman and Kiner-Falefa and disappointed with Robinson and Rua

he said that Ibanez had showed declining hitting stats over the last couple of years but he hit .285 combined at A and AA in 2016, .265 at AA in 2017 and he is hitting .300 now. and he also said he was not a good 2nd baseman but in 2017 he committed 7 total errors (5 at 2nd and 2 at 3rd) and so far this season he has committed 1 error and that was at 3rd.

I could live with those numbers over Robinson

One thought here. So to add Ibamez you would have to add him to roster and DFA someone. This is not going to happen. Just not worth it

Best to just dismiss this from your mind

DDJ has definitely improved. Quite impressive. IKF looks like a major leaguer

Have to be patient this year

He has gotten hot lately, but his overall body of work is not encouraging at all. Everyone of the guys you want to move him past has had more hot streaks in the minors than Ibanez has. Just be careful what you wish for. The grass is not always greener on the other side.

They didn't pick up Tocci because they thought he could help out much this year. They were hoping he could hide on the roster for a year in hopes he would be better in the future. Below is an article outlining why we chose him in Rule 5.

"General manager Jon Daniels said that the club will do all it can to ensure that Tocci continues to see live pitching, including bringing pitchers from nearby Double-A Frisco to Globe Life Park to throw live batting practice. Tocci will be put on a more rigorous weight-lifting program.

The Rangers are willing to try all they can to keep a player they believe is elite defensively, especially in center field, and can be useful as a pinch-runner. Tocci could be used as a late-game defensive upgrade at all three outfield spots.

"When you have a Rule 5 player, there are a couple elements to it," Daniels said. "One is the immediate role on the team, and two is, from a development standpoint, the plan we will put in place to help him continue to grow."

I can agree with Nunez, don't really see the purpose for grabbing him, although I'd be tempted to drop him for a reliever instead, especially since we seem to be rolling with 6 starters for the time being and the bullpen is already been heavily used

There's plenty of versatility on the current roster

C- Chirinos, Centeno, IKF
1B- Guzman, Gallo, Rua, Profar, Chirinos
2B- IKF, Robinson, Rua, Profar, hell even DDJ came up as a 2B
3B- IKF, Robinson, Rua, Gallo, Profar
SS- Profar, IKF, Profar
COF- Gallo, Rua, Robinson, Mazara, Choo, Profar, DDJ
CF- DDJ, Robinson, and lets face it Gallo could handle CF for a couple innings, they've played him there before

C- Chirinos
1B- Guzman
2B- Robinson (for now it seems)
3B - IKF
SS- Profar
LF- Gallo
CF- DDJ
RF- Maz
DH- Choo

Bench: Centeno, Rua

Its a short but versatile roster, not to mention no one is really going to rot on the bench in that set up, you could rest/platoon someone just about every day

Meant to put Robinson at SS after IKF not Profar again

Gallo's numbers at his respective positions, hopefully its not a small sample size situation

you may be completely correct but we won't know until we stick them out there at Globe Life. we've put Rua and Robinson and Tocci out there and they haven't produced and are making it easy on other teams with their .178, .174 and .067 at the bottom of the order. yes Chirinos and Deshields are right there with them with their batting averages but we know what they can do

but some of them can't hit a lick so versatility doesn't mean much

Simply stating we need the reliever more right now

Deshields has had all of 30 plate appearances so tap the brakes

And I don't think the story changes if you bring up Ibanez

I'd prefer Rua getting ABs over Robinson at this point, Robinson has definitely had his chance

Well, I'm gonna be headed down to downtown Memphis to watch Round Rock play. Maybe I can give y'all some positives regarding our AAA club.

And nice tatter from Mr Profar.
