There are those Marlins again....

Marlins Agree To Acquire Carlos Zambrano: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

Miami will pay $2.5 million of the $18 million owed. They gave in return Chris Volstad, who is still young but never really brought it with the Marlins (except against the Giants). Just gives me a little more hope Zito will be gone one day.

Also, Ozzi and Zambrano in the same dugout? :pop2:

Ozzi was pimping Z when he was with the ChiSox...I don't see them having any problem getting along, being countrymates and all. Of bigger concern is the lost 7-8 mph on his fastball. If he can't find that again, he's probably going to have to become Livo-esque.

Agreed, just should be an interesting clubhouse. Lots of character in there.

That is not a problem. It is a regular occurrence for players to gain 14 MPH on their FB during 1 season.

I am not sure THAT will be an issue for Z. Apparently Z and Ozzi are real good friends, and Ozzi actually took Z out to dinner the night of the fight in the dug out.

Now Z and HanRam or Z and Morrison, on the other hand, could be fun to watch :)

I wouldn't want that headcase anywhere near my team.

Zambrano has shown that he can be an effective pitcher still with the reduced velocity, and he does help himself at the plate. However....I wouldn't want him in the clubhouse either. He will melt down again, the question is when...
