mine was in Atlanta during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games...17 straight days hosting & toasting, getting utterly smashed...with Poles, Swedes, Irish, Bangladeshis, Australians, Italians and fuck knows how many other beer-dranking ferners. (got sick as a dog the first three nights...then my autonomic liquid protein processing systems kicked in...was able to cruise at speed without incident thereafter.)

LECH - Polish National Heros...

The day before the Games began...me and Andy Maslanka (naturalized American citizen born in London to Polish parents) visited the Polish Delegation HQ in Decatur,GA. He just wanted to hear and speak a little polish...I was along for the ride.

We arrived during a time of crisis. They'd just taken shipment of a truckload of kegs of LECH for their beer pavilion...but forgot to include taps!!! and standard taps here wouldn't fit their kegs!!! and they couldn't get polish taps for another couple of days!!! and all the polish bigwigs/dignitaries were due in THAT NIGHT!!!

Andy is a props & sets designer/builder...suggested he try jury-rigging something up...hit a hardware store, forged his magic...tap worked perfectly...copped an immediate 10-tap order and delivered such three hours later...just in time to have shit cooking by the time the wigs arrived. The delegation folks were very thankful...gave each of us permanent grounds/pavilion passes (on lanyards) and called us Polish National Heroes.

I was a frequent visitor to the LECH tables for the next 17 days. (even took guests in several times)

Was deep into Field Hockey and multiple Budweisers at the BUD TENT in Centennial Park on 27JULY96...dranking heavily with Australian, Dutch and Pakistani field hockey fans...when a nutcase named Rudolph set off his pipe bomb about 400 yards away.

Was pretty chaotic for a while, and a lady died, sad shit...interesting, though...our little crowd went from drunken slobber about field hockey & sport to drunken slobber about "violence" around the world...unity...we all agreed that the first was good and the second was way fucked...as we were being herded from the scene.

(I took one of the Pakis and an Australian guy to Decatur later on...for a few LECH nightcaps)

I was in Hong Kong for 10 days in 1998. When you can't face 12 hour jet lag, you just stay drunk and out all night partying. GodDAMN that was a great 10 days. But the was the last time I'd have a drink as soon as I work up and go for days like that.

Not good. It involved a week in The Bay, mostly Oakland Hojo hotel. Me and my best bud got anhilitated on everything imaginable for a week. We got hookers twice.

Once a pair of Asians and the other a black chick with an LA face and a massive Oakland booty.

Lots of cigarettes even more blow. And unlimited amounts of alcohol. Close to fear n loathing bad.

I don't think I've had any benders lasting more than about 12 hours. My brother and some of his college friends had one lasting IIRC 31 hours to celebrate their graduation.
