You could argue coming up with 1 SB win in that stretch is a letdown though.

The Seattle defense during that era is easily in the top 5 of all-time defenses and RW was easily a top 10 QB and it should've been a team that had more than 1 SB win to show for it.

The question with Carroll has always been longevity and his history has shown he can build something up and have success but it soon falls apart and crashes and burns.

I'd say if he can retool this Hawks roster and have them competing for titles again it'll silence all the naysayers.
Well, I wont disagree they should have won more because, of course, they fell 1 yard short of b2b titles. Put them back at 2nd & goal from the 1 in SB 49, and they probably win that 95 times out of 100? Really a different discussion though. I still contend their run from '12-'16 is going to be better than whatever the Eagles or Rams do over the next 4 years on top of their break-through '17 season. I will bet against the Rams making it to 2 SBs in the next 4 years, and I'll bet against either team making it to the division round for 5 consecutive years with double digit wins. GB hasn't done it with Rodgers. Saints haven't done it with Brees. Panthers haven't done it with Cam.

I'll give the wait and see approach before I say the wheels have fallen off. The team still has talent and just needs a retool.

Start at your conclusion and work backwards. The method of the intellectually weak everywhere.

He's an idiot, but I'm sure he appreciates the support from the homers.

Or, you know, people who have actually watched him SPEAK repeatedly. If the guy was an idiot, I wouldn't say squat. I think you're projecting your own bullshit onto me.

If you're using the dude, I sure hope it's ironically.

It's kind of amazing how veteran players that get released from their first franchise are a little more respectful specially after winning a title and being so good....

This seems to be an extension of Richard Sherman's comments about the same this...tired old stories.

Sounds like it's been time to break up that DEF, bring in some fresh players...because Carroll ain't going nowhere just yet.

I hope not.

I want to see his bouncing gun chewing petoot on the sidelines for years to come.

Much like Tomlin...you don't have to be a great HC, but if you deliver a ring, the FO will most likely give you that chance to reload...we're seeing that in BAL now.

Marvin Lewis? He has some secret incriminating photos of the owner, or something...that ship should've sailed.

Jerry could hire him in Big D if he gets fired by Seattle!

Walsh's choke against the Seahawks in the playoffs a couple of years ago should have been a forewarning.

Pete made a huge mistake getting Walsh, literally cost us the playoffs last year... I’m also not thrilled with trading away top draft picks, no 2nd or 3rd this year really stings.... My gut says they pick up another pick trading Earl... But we shouldn’t be in this position, Pete’s made a few questionable moves lately for sure ...

With all that being said, I still respect Pete as a coach, he’s in rare territory, 1 of 3 coaches who have won NCAA titles and NFL titles...
