Would the Giants be interested in Brian McCann?

He turns 30 in November. Has some pop. I think he has a decent average at AT&T Park. Would fit in great with the starting staff. Someone to think about especially if Sandoval gets traded and Posey can play some 3rd base.

Any thoughts out there?

He's asking pretty big money isn't he? On top of a rather long contract, he's already 30, how many more years does he have in the crouch?

And didn't the Giants just throw some big money at Lincecum?

Brian McCann is a douche, so adding him to the Giants would make it ever more convenient to root against him.

That said, I don't think he'd be a bad option as a 2nd catcher for the Giants, but I don't think that's what he will be willing to sign for. Some bum team will give him a starting job.

No way in Hell is McCann coming to the Giants. The Red Sox, in particular, will be willing to throw the house at him. No way could the Giants compete with that kind of contract (nor should they -- he isnt THAT good of a fit for us)

He's fit for an AL team where he can DH 3 days a week.

Makes no sense for the Giants, they already have the best catcher in the game that I would hate if they move him somewhere else, and McCann is simply too much injury risk to take considering he won't be cheap.
