There was almost no midfield play today. Saudi Arabia had no midfield. Their defenders looked slow as hell. They have to be the worst team in the tournament.

They actually shot their wad in the first 5 minutes of the game. They came out on fire and looked to take the game to the Russians. Then they ran out of steam and the game became a rout. By the end of the game, the defenders could hardly move. It makes you wonder about going to 48 teams.

Concacaf has a pretty easy route to get in. Once you're in the final round of qualifying, just don't finish in the bottom 2 out of 6 teams. Should be pretty simple when the only other solid teams are usually Mexico and Costa Rica.

I actually think Saudi Arabia plays in a slightly tougher region than we do. The Panama, Honduras, and etc are not usually as good as South Korea, Japan, and Australia

No just about how we choked it away, in concacaf, which is easy, you're right. I get that some good Europe squads can miss, but we never should given we play in concacaf.
