Workman Against Rays, Here, July 22, 2013

Guess I shouldn't call Tampa Bay the Strays anymore, because they're a good team now,
but the temptation will always be there for me in all probability.

I can still hope they stray into the loss column most games, however. Not when they're playing the Sinstripes, though.

This will be only Workman's 2nd career start in MLB, won't it? That 5.40 ERA looks bad enough as is. An improbable 9 shutout innings tonight would get it down to 1.61 rounded off. File that under "Wilder Things Have Happenned", I guess.

So far Workman isn't looking like a keeper. Just how old is he, does anyone know?

He's only 24 I found out since posting my last. Too earlyt to write him off but some Pawtucket
appears to be in order.

Workman has settled down since the 1st inning. That's always good to see.

You knew the Rays would come back... The Red Sox were not going to run away with the East by any means. Offense needs to step up

At least there is some good news for Clay. Let's hope he comes back and to form because the Sox need him

First player since Masterson to only allow 2 runs in his first 2 major league starts... Too bad offense couldn't step up for him

wow 1st sox game i watched in a long time and we get completely owned by the rays. scoreless pitching (complete game no less), even grinded out an insurance run in the 9th that they didnt need. that was complete domination and perfectly executed baseball by the rays. what a joke by the sox.

Looking on the bright side this does improve the chances of the Sinstripes missing the playoffs completely.
