Will the Hawks have a 1000 yard rusher this season? If so, whom?

Gonna say no for 1 guy, though I think the run game will be improved. I can see Carson building on his 1st year, but we'll see if health is an issue. I also think Penny will emerge as the feature back at some point this year, so between the 2 I can see a 1,300 yard season.

I concur with Podunk.

We need to have a consistent back other than our QB. I think Carson is that guy barring injury and Penny will rotate carries with him.

Of course none of this matters if the OL isn't any better than last year.

Doubtful. Too many mouths to feed and even being optimistic about our line, it isn't going to turn into the 90s Cowboys OL.

I agree with the way the others have said it. I think the ground game will be at least average, but I think the load will be too spread out for 1 guy to hit 1k. But as long as it's an effective part of the offense, I don't really see it as a big deal that a single player didn't get over a certain number of yards. If both Carson and Penny avg > 4 per carry, then we'll be in good shape.

I still think there's a pretty decent chance (depending on health) that this year's O-line is going to be MUCH improved. We'll see.

I've been going back and re-watching the early games from last year on my PVR (have to delete before this season), and man Carson looked promising.

I believe the running game will be much better... IMO, the front office will give Penny every bit of the opportunity to win the job outright... He is a 3 down back... I could see Penny getting at least 60% of the snaps this year... If anyone on the team was going to rush for 1000, i'd put my money on Penny... I'm still not sold on Carson like a lot of you are...

If anyone runs for a thousand yards my money is on Penny. It remains to be seen if the OL can help make this happen. I’m hoping they can, but not entirely sold on the idea yet.

I think Penny gets penciled in as the starter so if the o-line ranks 20th or just a tad better, he'll get his 1000 yds

I think the seahawks are looking to what the Saints did with a committee type system with Kamara and Ingram that really changed their team. Brees was throwing the ball every damn down but once their run game was working they were just feeding the both of them 350-400 solid carries 4.5 YPC or better

Whether you think our leading rusher will be Penny or Carson, I just don't see a likely path for that guy to have a thousand yards. Regardless of who the "starter" is, I think Penny and Carson are going to share the load. The Kamara/Ingram example may be pretty close. Then you also have Prosise, who will be a big part of the 3rd down formations if he can find a way to stay on the field. An injury could change the landscape of the question, but as of now I think the load is going to be too spread out to have a 1k yard rusher.

That's probably more accurate. All I want is a good running game behind an improved o-line.

No. Carson is getting the bulk of the reps in training camp so I believe Penny will take a backseat to him and be the 3rd down guy. If everyone stays healthy I think Carson will end up in the 700's somewhere with Penny in the 300's somewhere and i'm fine with that.

Possibly but camp just started so Penny could get the bulk of the work next week. Plus he's a high draft pick the staff wanted so I think they want more then 300 yds from Penny.

i don't care who gets the bulk of the carries as long as the top guys stay healthy. Man we have been snake bit at the RB position these past few years.

heck if they all stay healthy it might not be Carson or Penny starting it could be Prosise lol. People forget he is 6 foot 1 and 220+ and runs like a deer. That makes him one of the biggest RB on the team.

This was my question in post #1... "Will the Hawks have a 1000 yard rusher this season? If so, whom?" The first question is a "yes" or "no" answer... If the answer is, "no", then you're done with the question... If' it's, "yes", then you answer the 2nd part of the question...
