Adrian Peterson

14 Games

1,812 rushing yards

Week 16 - at Houston - Sun 1:00 pm EST
Week 17 - vs Green Bay - Sun 1:00 pm EST

*Green Bay won 23-14 in first meeting with AP rushing 210 yards on Dec 2nd.

*Houston is 5th in rushing defense, (93.2 rush yards per game)

*Adrian Peterson needs 294 yards to break Eric Dickerson's record. Dickerson ran 2,105 in 1984.

*I don't believe the post-season stats count towards the record.

I want to explain the 3rd option since it only gives you 100 characters. Against Green Bay, he will get the record, but with a close game, they can't pull him. On the next carry after the record, GB stops him enough for him to lose the record and he gets injured or it's the final play of the game or something.

Yeah he came so close. I bet he'll rush for another 2000 this season.

Yikes-I wouldnt take that bet. AP is going to get his yards/productivity as always. The passing game must improve if the vikings are going to take another step.

Yeah good point... Ponder doesn't have much around him and Peterson will continue to be the bulk of the offense. Maybe not 2000 but 1500 should do.

My guess is 1200-1400... ~5.0 ypc is a safe bet. Im not rushing judgment on Ponder, but my current opinions(subject to change) on him arent really based on the receiving personnel around him. Sure, improved talent always helps, but I really need to see what he can do when the passing game isnt a byproduct of Peterson's productivity. I like the touch hes shown on the deep ball, but too many times he looked scared in the pocket. Very good mobility- hes faster than I originally gave credit for. IMO, he remains a "TBD".

I'd rather he run less and stay with the team longer. He's a fantastic leader on the team and I want him around, and not worn out.

One of the best o-lines in the game, much improved WR corp, and top 5 TE, if Ponder can't do it this season, he just can't do it. And I'm thinking closer to 2000 for AP as well.

I hope so man. AP won't continue this production for much longer.
